The majority of horses with sweet itch experience itch at the mane and tail. They will start rubbing and that can cause skin wounds. As horses continue to rub, the healing of wounds slows down and bacterial infections can occur.
Sweet Itch Double Control provides support during sweet itch. Inflamed skin is itchy, which causes rubbing and aggravates the problem. The oral supplement supportes from within, in order to diminish the itching.
Flying insects, such as midges, are less likely to approach a skin that has been treated with specific medium chain fatty acids. The Sweet Itch Double Control Spray therefore contains those fatty acids and monoglycerides that ensure that the horse’s skin becomes less attractive to midges. The spray helps to break the cycle of bites, thereby inhibiting the horse’s hypersensitivity reaction and the rubbing of the skin. This enables the skin to recover in a natural way.

Sweet Itch Double Control
Sweet itch, also known as summer eczema is caused by a hypersensitivity to substances from the saliva of midges (Culicoïdes). Unlike ordinary mosquitoes midges bite, they do not sting. The proteins in the saliva cause a severe reaction from the immune system of sensitive horses and ponies.
EquiElite Sweet Itch Double Control is a dual approach in which two products are applied to reduce the development of Sweet Itch. The Sweet Itch Double Control supplement is packed in a jar of 900 grams. The following dosage is advised: 30 grams per day per horse/pony during the period that mosquitos are active. To be dosed together with the concentrated feed.
The Sweet Itch Double Control Spray can be applied directly to sensible areas e.g. at the tail, mane, ears and belly. Rub in gently. Apply to the sensible areas daily. The spray is packed in a bottle of 1000 ml.
